Saturday is here and the Early Access is... not...

Hey there!

Well, Saturday is here and the Practical Laravel Security Early Access is... not...

It's not quite ready yet, but the good news is that it's not far away! I've rescheduled opening Early Access to Monday/Tuesday, to make sure everything is ready to go.

Today I wanted to run you through what's coming in Early Access and my plans going forward towards the completion of the course. I was also going to tell you how I set up the XSS Challenges, but it made for a lengthy email so I've bumped it to an email tomorrow. So keep an eye out for that!

What's in Early Access?

When Early Access launches, you'll have access to the first three modules:

  1. Attack: Cross-Site Scripting (XSS)

    1. The different types of XSS and why it's important to escape output properly.

    2. Different ways to exploit XSS and why it's so difficult to stop XSS in user input.

    3. Complete the XSS challenges:

      1. Stealing cookies

      2. Bypassing basic output escaping

      3. Hijacking markdown output

      4. Loading third-party scripts

      5. Covering your tracks

  2. Defend: Escaping Output

    1. Different ways to escape output in Laravel.

    2. How to safely output generated HTML without introducing bugs.

  3. Defend: HTML and Markdown

    1. Why Markdown isn't secure and what to do about it.

    2. How you can safely use HTML from user input.

New modules will be added over time as the course is built up - I will be releasing a new module per week/fortnight. Early Access will remain open until all of the modules are completed, at which point the course will be "officially released" and bump up to full price.

I'll be sending out regular email updates as modules are planned and built, so you know what is coming. I will also be updating modules based on feedback and any updates to Laravel, etc.

Get the Presale

As I mentioned in my previous email, the presale discount will be ending when Early Access is launched. I'll be bumping the price up a bit, although not up to the full price.

If you haven't signed up yet, you can still get the presale price of $249 USD!

Get the Presale!

Please reach out if you're interested in teams, student, or PPP pricing.

Thanks,
Stephen
